New Brunswick Middle School strives to Prepare, Empower, and Inspire lifelong learners and leaders. High School preparation is a very important task for middle schoolers! 8th grade students should see Miss Callie or Ms. Caicedo for information about high school options.
Below is a list of high schools NBMS students typically attend:
"The New Brunswick Public School District is committed to providing high quality learning experiences that address the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS), the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and Character Education, for students from early childhood years through the secondary grades. Teachers will implement standards-based instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students in each subgroup. Students will engage in developmentally-appropriate, research-based learning activities that foster critical thinking skills and high self-esteem. The ongoing, multifaceted parent involvement initiatives will acknowledge the value that is placed on the meaningful involvement of community and family members."
New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School
"The New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School is a rather unique institution in that it is the result of a partnership between the school district; Innovative Educational Programs, a for profit educational company responsible for staffing the school; and, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a premier teaching hospital. It is an urban competitive admissions high school with a mission to educate and prepare students to enter healthcare careers. In keeping with the mission, the course of study emphasizes the sciences and mathematics and all academic coursework is on an Honors or Advanced Placement level. Experiential learning opportunities and required community service are integral components of school life and complement the instructional program."
"The primary goal of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High Schools is to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s careers. We prepare students for employment in the competitive labor force and for life long learning by providing a program that stresses the work ethic, technology, occupational skills competency, broadly transferable academic, thinking, problem solving and communication skills, diversity and equity and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship."
The mission of Central Jersey College Prep Charter School is to provide academic and social challenges and opportunities to students, instilling the skills and knowledge that they will need to succeed in their lives. CJCPCS aims to forge a powerful partnership out of the student-teacher-parent triad. This partnership will provide and empower our youth with the support necessary to reach their highest potential – intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically – building on their inherent promise to aid in their preparation for college and career.
CJCPCS seeks to graduate men and women who think critically and creatively, have acquired strong skills in mathematics, science, language, technology, history, and the arts, and are committed to a lifetime of learning and civic involvement.
